Many
people helped Casey begin raising funds for Children's Memorial
Hospital in 2007. Her high school, Downers Grove South, set the bar very
high with their constant support for Casey. The sports teams and choirs
held fundraisers that got Be the Cure™
up and running. Several other high schools and elementary schools
followed their example and participated, too. Northside College Prep
High School in Chicago never met Casey until they presented her with a
$7,200 donation from a volleyball marathon they had on her behalf! (They
read an article in the Chicago Sun-Times about Casey and decided
to adopt her!) Since then, Northside College Prep has held an annual
fundraiser and are now the largest single donor to Be the Cure™ for Children's Memorial Hospital.
Susan Donner, Brittany Robbins, Casey Patton, and Aileen Reed–Casey's friends who helped her through her chemo treatments during high school. They wanted to help raise money for kids with cancer and helped Casey start BTC. | |
