Northside College Prep High School Volleyball Marathon Raises Over $6,000 for BTC and CMH!
For the fifth year in a row, our friends showed their generous spirits and dedication to helping Casey and all the kids at Children's Memorial Hospital.
NCPs 12-hour volleyball marathon was an incredible event. This year Casey brought along a little friend from CMH who has been in remission for two years (Praise God!). We haven’t seen Ashylnn in awhile and she is now sporting a ponytail and a baby sister. Our families had a joyful reunion. The high school students welcomed Ashlynn by serenading her with a Disney song. Ashlynn, who is a cheerleader, then did a cheer for the group and she gave a speech too. There was a lot of cuteness going on along with a lot of volleyball! Its days like this that gives families like ours and Ashlynn’s strength and encouragement. We are truly blessed to know the coaches and students at NCP.

Gunner and Friends Raise $556 for BTC and CMH!
On July 30, 2011 Dave and Sandy Spinelli introduced BTC to Gunner & Friends. These are a group of Dave's childhood friends that host an annual fundraiser for charities on behalf of their friend Gunner who died of melanoma in 2007. This year the group raised funds for BTC, Bear Necessities, and Ronald McDonald House. They held a picnic in the forest preserve with raffles, games, food, and fun for everyone. Thank you all so much. There are many kids who will benefit from your kindness.

Fair Game Store in Downers Grove Raises Over $800 for BTC and CMH!
On April 30, 2011 Fair Game Store owner Josh Stein generously donated 20% of sales to Be the Cure. All day long families wandered in, played games, and bought t-shirts. This game store is like no other—there are no electronics or video games.  People of all ages play card games and board games while seated around tables and sofas. It's amazing. Casey's brother Matthew brought his therapy dog Zoey along and she pulled customers in just by being herself. Also, Josh invited The Spiel Foundation to donate a set of games directly to CMH! No one knows more than us about how boring treatments can be when you're tethered to an IV for hours and hours.  Thank you to everyone for a job well done! You have made many families happy.

Who could resist entering a store where people are laughing and playing games—all for a good cause!

Northside College Prep High School Students Raise Over $5,800 for BTC and CMH!
The Mustangs are at it again!  On November 6, 2010 the volleyball teams held a 12-hour marathon in support of Casey and Children’s Memorial Hospital. This is their fourth annual fundraiser!  They are now the single largest donor to BTC. All of the families of the pediatric patients at CMH are very grateful for the dedication and kindness of these students.  They are the best!
